GSA Silicon Series Luncheon | AustinTraditional consumer electronic (CE) devices such as DVDs, digital still cameras and portable media players have been the primary revenue driver for the majority of consumer semiconductor revenue. In recent years, however, these markets have experienced a decelerating unit growth and companies are now looking for emerging consumer applications that they can delve into and generate new revenue streams. Among the various applications that semiconductors are looking to are the emergence of Mobile Internet Devices (MIDs) and “the connected living room” which includes technology that will enable consumers to stream content through their digital TVs, set-top boxes, game consoles, mobile handsets and more. In addition, the emergence of Network-Attached Storage as a market for semiconductors shows much promise in generating significant semiconductor dollar content. This luncheon titled “The Future of Consumer Electronics and the Communications Convergence,” will focus on the emerging applications within these categories and discover what the market opportunities and challenges arise from entering these markets and what semiconductors and their value-chain partners are doing to succeed and profit in these areas.Date, Location and TimeDate: May 6, 2010 Barton Creek Resort & Spa Time: 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
