Riverwood Capital is a private equity firm comprised of a unique group of investment professionals targeting middle market technology firms in need of financial and intellectual capital to achieve superior growth and profitability on a global scale. We believe mid-size technology companies represent the best investment opportunities to achieve outsized returns, particularly in today’s challenged financial environment. The most attractive of these opportunities tend to have a disruptive product satisfying a large market need but usually not the skill sets needed to successfully grow and operate a global business. The Riverwood team provides a compelling blend of investment skills, vast technology sector knowledge and significant operating expertise invaluable to technology firms. Having themselves operated high growth businesses successfully and assisted many others in doing so, Riverwood understands the challenges these companies face. Our team, along with a vast global network in the technology space, is capable of helping companies grow the top line, manage cost structure and supply chain challenges, set up cost efficient operations throughout the world as well as devise the ideal technology roadmap and strategy for success. Given our backgrounds we have particular interest in the semiconductor, hardware and components space. We do not utilize leverage to achieve financial returns and have a three to five year investment horizon. Indicative investments include Aptina, a carve out of Micron’s image sensor business, ALOG, a data center business in Brazil acquired along with our strategic partner Equinix, GoPro, a consumer electronics company and Ambarella, a HD video processor company. Riverwood is looking to invest in companies with enterprise values of between $50 million and $500 million and seeks to make equity growth investments of between $25 million and $75 million.
