Multigig is a fabless, high performance analog and mixed-signal semiconductor company focused on providing state-of-the-art technologies that solve significant system-level timing problems. By coupling Multigig’s core strengths of innovative, high performance analog design with its broadly patented proprietary RotaryWave™ technology it forms the foundation for barrier shattering, energy efficient, low cost timing products targeting the most demanding applications in storage, communications, computing, and consumer applications.

Introduced in 2006 as the first major technology advance in semiconductor clock design in the last several decades, the underlying RotaryWave™ technology, now protected by 30 patents, enables semiconductors to achieve their maximum performance by delivering extremely precise, high-resolution, low-noise timing signals with far less power than is associated with standard clock designs. RotaryWave is a fundamental technology that works on all existing manufacturing processes - zero manufacturing changes are required to implement RotaryWave clocks into a design. RotaryWave clocks also scale well with advanced processes. Furthermore, this technology has excellent signal integrity with very robust tolerance to substrate, power supply and radiated noise.

The QuietClock family supports a broad range of applications in communication and networking segments. The frequency generation and clock distribution products offered are being used in wide range of applications including Gigabit Ethernet, SONET/SDH, Fibre Channel, serial Rapid IO, and storage applications. The products are commonly used in SONET line cards (OC-48 to OC-768 and beyond), Ethernet network interface cards (XAUI, CX4), blades, servers, switches, and routers.

Compelling reasons customers are designing with Multigig devices include increased timing margin, better BER, first silicon solution to shatter 100 fs jitter barrier, improved PSRR, 50% power reduction, and reduced BOM cost.
