GSA Silicon Series Luncheon Focuses on Next-Generation Networks
Qualcomm, Samsung, Mindspeed and Others Discuss Semiconductor Growth Drivers
San Jose, Calif. (April 28, 2010) – The Global Semiconductor Alliance (GSA) announces its Silicon Series Luncheon focused on Next-Generation Networks: The Evolution of Mobile Connectivity offering views and perspectives on wireless, 3G to 4G and LTE applications. The event takes place on May 4 at the Santa Clara Convention Center. The GSA mission is to provide thought leadership and insight areas of growth for our member base and chip companies across the globe, in addition to providing a platform for global collaboration to address supply-chain challenges and inefficiencies.
The luncheon begins at 11:00 a.m. with featured keynote, Arpit Joshipura, vice president and head of Strategy and Communications for Ericsson, addressing LTE and the Future of Mobile Networks. Next-generation networks are becoming an increasingly important area of growth for semiconductor companies. Semico Research reported that in 2009 mobile communications made up 20 percent of the $226.3 billion semiconductor TAM. Mr. Joshipura’s presentation will highlight opportunities in LTE space and the challenges that must be overcome to successfully deploy LTE and evolve network technology.
Following Joshipura’s keynote, an insightful panel discussion on Beyond 3G: 4G, WiMax, LTE...What Next? will focus on the various semiconductor benefits, challenges and advancements for growth in pursuing innovation in technologies beyond 3G.
