Abstract : Low-power design is moving from early adopter phase into mainstream adoption. There are number of factors driving this change, first it was a must have for extending battery life for mobile applications, next process technology caused some inherent issues and opportunties to utilize increased integration efficiently, and now the economic need to reduce power consumption in all wired electronic devices is driving a massive shift. To be competitive on the world market, today’s electronic products must be power-efficient. The mushrooming demand for more electricity to drive electronic products is putting a strain on world markets and the use of oil to generate electricity is impacting the environment. In crisis there is opportunity and the electronics industry is stepping up to meet the challenge to make electronics power-efficient. The panelists will discuss how their business is growing to accommodate the design of more power efficient electronics.
