Dr. Luke Hsieh

Dr. Luke Hsieh

Luke Hsieh is the CEO and co-founder of Richtek Technology Corporation.  Luke has been working in engineering and management in the semiconductor industry for over twenty years.  Under his leadership, Richtek has become one of the world's leading providers of power management ICs.  Before co-founded Richtek, Luke was with Bell Laboratories responsible for R&D and engineering management.  Prior to Bell Laboratories, he had worked at various engineering positions in Silicon Valley.  Luke received a MSEE from University of Florida and a PhD in electrical engineering from Santa Clara University.

Lars Jensen

Director, Strategy and Business Development, Nokia Corporation

Lars earned his MSEE from the Technical University of Denmark in 1988. During the next 12 years he worked in aerospace business in California and Germany, directing several spacecraft antenna projects from design through manufacturing to delivery in orbit. He joined Nokia in 2000 and has held several positions in Nokia Global Sourcing including the supply line management responsibility for the complete RF portfolio.  In 2006 Lars took on his present role looking after Nokia semiconductor sourcing strategy.

Dr. Nicky Lu

GSA AP Council Chairman Chairman & Chief Executive Officer, Etron Technology

As chief executive, researcher, design architect, and entrepreneur, Dr. Nicky Lu has dedicated his career to the worldwide IC design and semiconductor industry. He is the Founder and CEO of Etron since 1991, and co-founded several other high-tech companies, including Ardetec Corp. and Global Unichip Corp., which are now public. Dr. Lu received his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from National Taiwan University and M.S. and Ph.D. in EE from Stanford University. He worked for the IBM and won numerous IBM recognition awards, including an IBM Corporate Award. He holds over 24 U.S. patents and has published more than 50 technical papers.

Dr. Lu received the National Medal of Excellence in Science and Technology by the Premier of the Republic of China and the IEEE Solid State Circuits Field Award, and is an IEEE Fellow and member of National Academy of Engineering of the United States. Dr. Lu also serves as Managing Board Director of the Taiwan Semiconductor Industry Association (TSIA), and the Board Director and Asia-Pacific Leadership Council Chairman of the Global Semiconductor Alliance (GSA).

Jim Seto

Vice President, Foundry Operations, AMD

Jim Seto is Vice president of Foundry Operations for AMD. In this role, he is responsible for foundry engineering and business/commercial development with its foundry partners.  He oversees the CPU, Graphics and Chipset silicon manufacturing in Europe and Asia.

From 2000 to 2004, Seto was ATI's vice president, ASIC engineering and operations. He was responsible for steering the company’s transition to the fabless semiconductor development model (COT), which is an integral part of the company’s business methodology and has enabled ATI to grow to be one of the largest fabless semiconductor companies worldwide.

Seto joined ATI in 1991 and has held various management positions, including ASIC design manager, senior manager IC development and director, component engineering and operations. Prior to joining ATI, he worked at Bell-Northern Research as an analog design engineer.

Seto has a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Waterloo and a master’s degree in electrical engineering from Carleton University. He holds several U.S. patents on mixed-signal design techniques. Seto has served on the FSA Board of Directors from 2002 to 2007.

Jodi Shelton

President, GSA

Jodi Shelton is the co- founder of GSA, serving as president since its inception in July 1994. A pioneer within the technology space, Shelton masterminded the creation of the Alliance and has continuously addressed global issues in the industry as the voice of its members. Under her leadership, GSA has grown to include more than 500 corporate members from across the globe, united in improving the image and credibility of the fabless ecosystem. In her role as executive director Shelton oversees GSA daily operations, ensuring that the Alliance remains focused on achieving its defined vision and goals. She acts as the key liaison between GSA and the business community at high-level financial and industry conferences, providing insight on key topics pertaining to the global fabless supply chain. Some of Shelton's recent accomplishments include ringing the closing bell at NASDAQ and seamlessly transitioning the Fabless Semiconductor Association (FSA) to the Global Semiconductor Alliance (GSA) in 2007. Shelton earned her bachelor's degree in political science from San Diego State University and her master's degree in political science from the University of Houston.

Lip-Bu Tan

President and Chief Executive Officer, Cadence Design Systems

Lip-Bu Tan

He has been a member of the Cadence Board of Directors since 2004 and serves as a member of the Finance and Technology Committees of the Board. He also serves as chairman of Walden International, a venture capital firm he founded in 1987. Prior to founding Walden, Tan was Vice President at Chappell & Co. and held management positions at EDS Nuclear and ECHO Energy. Tan received an M.S. in nuclear engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, an MBA from the University of San Francisco, and a B.S. from Nanyang University in Singapore. He serves on the Board of Directors of both the Electronic Design Automation Consortium (EDAC) and the Global Semiconductor Association (GSA).

Joep van Beurden

Joep van Beurden

Joep van Beurden was appointed Chief Executive Officer of CSR on 1, November 2007. He has over ten years of experience in managing technology companies in the US and Europe. For the three years prior to joining CSR, he was Chief Executive of NexWave Inc., a provider of embedded software solutions for the consumer electronics market based in France. Before joining NexWave, Joep held senior positions at Canesta Inc., a fabless semiconductor company, and Philips Components. Whilst at Philips, he was part of the executive team which established a successful consumer electronics joint venture with LGE. Prior to that, he worked for five years for management and strategy consultants McKinsey & Company. Mr. van Beurden has also worked as a crude oil trader for Royal Dutch Shell in Rotterdam and lectured in Physics and Electronics at the University of Zambia. Joep van Beurden holds a Masters degree in Applied Physics from Twente University of Technology in Enschede, the Netherlands.
