Dr. Morris Chang Exemplary Leadership Award
The Dr. Morris Chang Exemplary Leadership Award recognizes individuals, such as its namesake, Dr. Morris Chang, for their exceptional contributions to drive the development, innovation, growth and long-term opportunities for the semiconductor industry.
Dr. Tsu-Jae King Liu
President
National Academy of Engineering
Dr. Tsu-Jae King Liu
Tsu-Jae King Liu is the President of the National Academy of Engineering since July 1, 2025. A distinguished engineer and academic leader, she earned her B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. in electrical engineering from Stanford University. In 1996 she joined the faculty of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences at the University of California, Berkeley where she has served in various administrative leadership positions, most recently as Dean of the College of Engineering from July 2018 through June 2025.
Liu is renowned for her contributions in the field of microelectronics, which include co-developing the FinFET transistor design that is used in all leading-edge computer chips and smartphones today. She has authored over 550 publications and holds 97 U.S. patents. Her recognitions include the DARPA Significant Technical Achievement Award and the IEEE Electron Devices Society Education Award.
Liu is a Fellow of the IEEE and the National Academy of Inventors, and was inducted into the U.S. National Academy of Engineering in 2017. She has served on the Boards of Directors for Intel Corporation and MaxLinear Inc., and has contributed nationally as an advocate for domestic microelectronics workforce development and as a member of advisory committees for NSF, NIST, and PCAST.
Women of Influence Award
The Women of Influence Award (formerly named the Rising Women of Influence Award) recognizes and profiles the next generation of women leaders in the semiconductor industry. Companies are encouraged to identify women with a technical background and education within their organization that they believe will be one of their key corporate executives over the next three years. Nominations will be reviewed by an all-female executive committee that will select the top three candidates for recognition at the GSA Annual awards Dinner. There, a winning recipient will be announced and presented with the Women of Influence Award.

Distinguished Engineer and Senior System & Firmware Architect

Karin Inbar
Karin Inbar is a Distinguished Engineer, acting as a chief System & Firmware Architect at Sandisk (joined at 2013). She has played a pivotal role in defining multiple generations of flash controllers and systems, including client SSD, embedded storage and currently enterprise SSDs. She is recognized for her deep system insight, attention to details, and strategic architectural vision.
Karin holds a B.Sc. in Computer Science and Biology from Tel Aviv University, graduated (2002) with distinction. She is also the inventor of over 30 granted U.S. patents (as of Dec 2024).

Rong Pan
Dr. Rong Pan, Corporate Vice President at AMD, is an accomplished technology leader with over two decades of influence spanning academia, startups, and Fortune 500 enterprises. At AMD, she leads AI/ML networking architecture and has been instrumental in shaping the future of Ethernet for AI at scale. Her pioneering innovations have become global building blocks, advancing hyperscale data centers and enhancing broadband performance for hundreds of millions of households worldwide. Dr. Pan earned her Ph.D. from Stanford University.

Viji Ranganna
Viji Ranganna is a Director at Google Silicon, where she leads the Physical Design and CAD Teams responsible for developing Tensor Silicon for the Pixel product line. She also holds a strategic role as the lead for AI/ML Adoption across Google Silicon, collaborating closely with Google DeepMind and EDA.
Viji brings extensive industry experience, previously serving as a Senior Director at Qualcomm. Her career history also includes key positions at Synopsys (Avant!), Intel, and Broadcom (LSI Logic) across the US and India. She holds a B.E. in Electronics and Communication from UVCE Bangalore and an M.S.E.E. from SDSU.

Sherry Xu
Sherry Xu is a pioneering silicon architect with over two decades of experience driving innovation across consumer entertainment, mixed reality, and cloud-scale AI accelerators. Her career spans leadership roles at ATI/AMD and Microsoft. Currently serving as Chief SoC Architect for Microsoft’s Maia program, Sherry is the technical owner of the Maia AI accelerator SoCs. She is recognized both by colleagues and among industry partners for technical acumen and strategic vision. Sherry is also actively involved in the GSA WLI program.

Start-Up to Watch Award
GSA’s Private Awards Committee, comprised of venture capitalists and select serial entrepreneurs in the industry, selects up to two winners for the Start-Up to Watch award by identifying the semiconductor company (or companies) that demonstrates the potential to positively change its market or the semiconductor industry, in general, through the innovative use of semiconductor technology or a new application for semiconductor technology.
Criteria:
- Company must be a semiconductor company (Fabless or IDM).
- Company must be privately held.
- Company must NOT have achieved greater than or equal to $20 million of cumulative product revenue (i.e., cumulative product revenue since market introduction).

Most Respected Private Semiconductor Company Award
Start-Up to Watch Award
The industry’s Most Respected Private Semiconductor Company Award is designed to identify the private company garnering the most respect from the industry in terms of its products, vision and future opportunity. GSA’s Private Awards Committee reviews all private semiconductor companies, conducts analysis of each company’s performance and likelihood of long-term success, and provides a list of respectable private companies to be voted on by GSA membership. On-line voting takes place to allow GSA members, including semiconductor companies and partners, to cast a ballot for the private semiconductor company they most respect.
Criteria:
- Company must be a semiconductor company (Fabless or IDM).
- Company must be privately held.
- Company must have achieved a minimum of $20 million of cumulative product revenue (i.e., cumulative product revenue since market introduction).

Most Respected Public Semiconductor Company Awards
The industry’s Most Respected Public Semiconductor Company Awards are designed to identify the public companies garnering the most respect from the industry in terms of its products, vision and future opportunities. GSA reviews the criteria below for all publicly traded Fabless and IDM semiconductor companies for two 12 month periods using quarters Q3, Q4, Q1, and Q2. All companies that meet these criteria are segmented into four separate revenue groups and each GSA member company votes for a single winner of the Most Respected Public Semiconductor Company for each group.
- All publicly traded semiconductor companies, Fabless and IDM only
- Company must report $100M or more in total Revenue for each of the two 12 month periods
- Stock price must be greater than $1 USD on JUN 30 for each of the two 12 month periods (applies to U.S.-listed companies only)
- Company must have a Market Capitalization of $250M or more on JUN 30 for each of the two 12 month periods

The analysts base their decision on historical, as well as projected data, such as stock price, earnings per share, revenue forecasts and product performance.

Regional Awards
As a global alliance, GSA introduced an award specifically for the Europe/Middle East/Africa (EMEA) and Asia-Pacific (APAC) regions. The awards will recognize a semiconductor company headquartered in each respective region that clearly demonstrates the most strength when measuring products, vision, leadership and success in the marketplace. GSA’s APAC and EMEA Leadership Councils will determine the nominees and the winners of their respective regions.
