GSA WLI Technical Women’s Development Program – Sailing in the Wind
Empower STEM Females, Enlighten Career Path

Title Sponsor SemiDrive Technology

GSA WLI and SemiDrive are both advocates of women’s development in science and engineering. Covid-19 has been effectively controlled in China, and most of college students came back to school for study in September 2020. Therefore, we have chance to organize a special free talking salon in aim of women’s development in STEM fields. First time, we take the activity to Southeast University, a first-class STEM University in Chinese mainland. It was founded in 1902 and has a long history. This is the very first time Women Leadership Committee (WLC) members bring the essential spirit of women leadership into China’s campus.

It is gratifying and fortunate that females have become one third of the entire faculties. In 1990s, the proportion of female students in her department was only 1 / 10. With the development of over 20 years, the self-development and self-awareness of STEM women in China have made a qualitative leap. This has been paid and guided by the educational community and schools, as well as the continuous growth of women’s own cognition.

As a member of WLC, each of them always actively promotes, support and guide STEM women to play their advantages more effectively and quickly and take more important responsibilities in the semiconductor industry & ecosystem. At the salon, you will be able to hear the topics and content tailored for college students and newcomer to battle arena. It includes a general guideline when they first enter the workplace, and cases of how women work together with their 360-degree colleagues to maximize their synergy. At Q&A session, you will further hear the voice from students too. It is also a great opportunity that helps us be well prepared to embrace the very young generation of 2000. And we sincerely hope that such activities can stimulate more students’ passion and creativity, as well as their sincerity and perseverance in the semiconductor industry.
