Jean-Marc Chery has been the President and CEO of STMicroelectronics since May 2018, leading the Managing Board and Executive Committee.
He started his career at Matra in the Quality organization and joined Thomson Semiconductors in 1986, where he held various management roles, including leading ST’s wafer fabs in Tours and Rousset. Promoted to Chief Technology Officer in 2008, he subsequently assumed responsibilities for Manufacturing and Quality, as well as the Digital Product Sector. In 2014, he became COO, tasked with Technology and Manufacturing, and was named Deputy CEO in July 2017.
Chery chairs the Board of Directors at the Global Semiconductor Alliance and sits on several other boards, including France Industrie. He was awarded the Knight of the Legion of Honor in July 2019. Born in 1960 in Orleans, France, he graduated with a degree in engineering from ENSAM in Paris.

He has over 20 years of experience in the semiconductor and software industries, earning accolades such as the 2022 Robert N. Noyce Award and being named one of Forbes’ Top 50 Venture Capitalists. Previously, he was CEO of Cadence Design Systems for 12 years, during which he transformed the company, doubling revenue and enhancing operating margins. Tan is a founding managing partner at Walden Catalyst Ventures and chairman of Walden International. He also serves on the boards of Credo Technology Group and Schneider Electric.
Tan holds a B.Sc. in physics from Nanyang Technological University, a M.Sc. in nuclear engineering from MIT, and an MBA from the University of San Francisco.

Before Marvell, Matt spent over 20 years at Maxim Integrated, rising through various leadership roles, including Executive Vice President of Business Units and Sales and Marketing.
He has received several accolades, including the Silicon Valley Business Journal’s 2019 C-Suite award for CEO of a Large Public Company and recognition as an All-America Executive Team Best CEO in 2018 by Institutional Investor.
Matt holds a B.A. from Franklin & Marshall College and graduated from the Stanford Executive Program. He served on eBay Inc.’s Board from March 2019 to June 2022 and is currently on the boards of the Semiconductor Industry Association and Global Semiconductor Alliance, where he chairs the GSA Board.
