Dr. Jackson Hu

Dr. Jackson Hu is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of NeoEnergy Microelectronics since May 2009 and is a 34-year veteran in the semiconductor industry with 29 years in fabless IC design and five years running a foundry. Dr. Hu served as a Senior Vice President and General Manager of S3, a leading personal computer graphics chip company.
From 1996 - 2002, Dr. Hu served as President and Chief Executive Officer of SiRF Technologies and built it from a start-up company to a GPS chip market leader. Prior to that, Dr. Hu co-founded Verticom and IC Ensemble that were acquired by Western Digital and Via Technology, respectively.
Jackson Hu served as Chief Executive Officer of UMC, and ran it successfully for five years. Dr. Hu assumed the Chairman and CEO roles between January 2006 - July 2008.
Dr. Hu holds a Ph.D. and M.S. in Computer Science from the University of Illinois, Urbana, M.B.A. from Santa Clara University and BSEE from National Taiwan University.
